All about the Bantams
We aim to give young children (school years 1,2 and 3) a fun foundation in learning and improving football skills. Our goal is to provide an inclusive atmosphere where every child is encouraged and supported to improve. We have boys and girls in every year group, and look to develop their skills through structured training sessions and matches, preparing them for the transition into the next stages of Little League.
We start with warm up games, then split the children into their year groups for approx 45 minutes of training, usually with several different activities to ensure the children maintain their interest. We finish with a 30 minute match, encouraging the children to use what they have learnt. We aim to have between 5 – 8 players on each team.
Parents are asked to stay and be responsible for their children, and we ask that all children bring water, shin pads and boots (certainly for winter). Parents are also encouraged to help in any way that they are able, whether by coaching or by helping set goals up, collect bibs etc...
The cost is currently a one-off payment of £10 which covers the whole season. This is a very small donation as our ethos is one of inclusion and we are entirely staffed by volunteers. Sessions run every Saturday from September to May. We ask that children are at the playing field by 09:45 and we finish at 11:45.
